About Chill LA:

The Chill LA site was established in 2000, five years after Chill’s inception in Burlington. Since our kickoff season, Chill LA has served over 1,200 underserved youth across Los Angeles. After 13 successful years of running a winter program, Chill LA developed year-round initiatives! Summer 2014 marked the start of our annual surf program, and we’re now expanding our opportunities to include skateboarding, too.

Snow Program:

Location: Mountain High, CA

SAMSUNGOur on-snow program operates on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday nights and lasts six weeks. The entire program is provided at no cost to the youth or agencies involved.

Program participants ride as a group to and from the mountain each day from our gear space in Fontana. The teens meet here before program to gear up–we provide snow jackets, snow pants, boards, bindings, boots, helmets, and gloves to all of our teens to ensure safety on the mountain.

Our dates for winter 2016 are:

Week One: January 24, January 27
Week Two: January 31, February 3
Week Three: February 7, February 10
Week Four: February 21, February 17
Week Five: February 28, February 24
Week Six: March 13, March 2
Make Up 1: March 20, March 9
Make Up 2: March 27, March 16

*Please note we have no program the Sunday of Presidents Day Weekend, Feb 14. Happy Valentines Day!

*Applications for Snow 2016 are now closed. Please contact the LA Manager if you have any questions regarding involvement in future seasons or other programs.

Skate Program:

Location: Skatelab in Simi ValleyExposure 3

We hosted our first full six-week skate program in fall 2015. A successful program featured private lessons for our teens provided Exposure 2by Skatelab, and a pre-skate “classroom” area to delve into our weekly life lessons. All boards have been generously donated to us from Board Rescue.

In 2014, we held our first-ever LA Girls’ Skate Day at Exposure 2014 in Encinitas. Exposure is a nonprofit dedicated to providing female skaters an avenue to succeed and financially supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

All skate programs are provided at no cost to the youth or agencies involved.

Surf Program:

Location: Will Rogers Beach, Pacific Palisades, CA

We have partnered with Boarding House Mentors to host our summer surf programs. We surf for six weeks in June and July with each teen in a private, one-on-one lesson. The entire program is provided at no cost to the youth or agencies involved.

Thank you for your support, Boarding House Mentors!
