The Chill LA site was established in 2000, five years after Chill’s inception in Burlington. Since our kickoff season, Chill LA has served over 1,200 underserved youth across Los Angeles. After 13 successful years of running a winter program, Chill LA developed year-round initiatives! Summer 2014 marked the start of our annual surf program, and we’re now expanding our opportunities to include skateboarding, too.

Chill serves the following LA agencies:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Venice
  • Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley
  • CoachArt
  • David & Margaret Youth and Family Services
  • Five Acres
  • David Starr Jordan High School
  • LAPD Cadets Community Youth Program
  • Markham Middle School
  • Nimitz Middle School
  • Ninety-Third Street School
  • South Park Elementary School

Skate Program:

On November 8, Chill had our first-ever LA Girls’ Skate Day at EXPOSURE 2014 down in Encinitas, CA. EXPOSURE is a non-profit women’s skateboarding benefit dedicated to providing female skaters an avenue to succeed, while at the same time raising money for survivors of domestic violence. The all-day event featured Learn-to-Skate and Yoga Clinics, amateur and professional bowl and half pipe competitions, autograph sessions, and an exciting Vendor Village. Our girls had a blast learning how to skate with XS Helmets, Neal Mims Skate Academy, and Girls Riders Organization.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Santa Monica Grand Tasting and the Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival in June. These fundraisers benefited Chill Los Angeles and were both huge successes!  Please check back for information on our next signature event coming later this summer.

Local Sponsors:

Chill programming would not be possible without the generosity of our corporate sponsors. Many thanks to the 2014-2015 corporate sponsors for changing the lives of Chill LA’s deserving youth.
