Scott McArdle (He/Him)

Board of Directors, Co-Chair

Scott has spent over 30 years in the nonprofit sector in various development and program positions, including over a decade with the Vermont Community Foundation (VCF) and the past 10 years as a development and philanthropy consultant to both nonprofits and donor families and foundations. Scott specializes and delights in building relationships and finding the common ground where organizations and donors come together to create maximum impact, develop relationships, and have as much fun as possible!

At VCF, Scott served on the senior leadership team as Vice President for Donor Relations and Senior Philanthropic Advisor, providing charitable counsel for individuals and families and serving as lead staff and trustee for 7 charitable foundations. Scott has also served as Development and Marketing Director with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, Program Manager for the East Bay Conservation Corps, and in direct service, management, and development roles with youth and environmental nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay and Seattle areas.

Scott currently serves on the board of the Chill Foundation of Burton Snowboards (Co-chair) and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vergennes and is a past board member of VPR/Vermont Public (2012-2022), the High Meadows Fund, Bryan Family Foundation, Pomerleau Family Foundation, Wisdom Connection Foundation, Permanent Fund for the Well-being of Vermont Children (Let’s Grow Kids), Vermont Parks Forever, Starksboro Mentoring Program, and Duxbury Land Trust.

Scott has called Vermont home since 1995 and currently lives in Ferrisburgh Vermont with his wife Kelli and too many horses. For fun he enjoys snowboarding, disc golf, guitar, boating on Lake Champlain, fixing broken things on the farm, and still trying to be the greatest dad ever to his two adult daughters, Caroline and Jenna. His first album was Boston (on vinyl).
