The Chill Foundation’s 2017 Stand-Up Paddleboarding Program Has Launched!
Chill to run two six-week programs on Lake Champlain
The sun is out, and so is Chill! Chill Burlington’s summer stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) programs are in full swing, serving more than 30 area youth from select youth service agencies in the greater Burlington area. Groups will participate in daily lessons before heading out on the water to practice their new skills, while Chill takes care of all equipment and lesson needs free-of-charge. Daily themes include patience, persistence, responsibility, courage, respect, and pride. Each lesson is paired with an activity that translates directly to their experience on the water. For some participants, this is their first time getting out on the lake.
“We have a great group of participants this year, and I’m excited to see them grow and develop over the six sessions,” said Zack Engler, Chill Burlington Manager. “It’s inspiring to watch everyone take the daily lesson we learn on land and apply it to their time on the water.”
Burlington’s programming will run on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in July and August at the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center on the Burlington Waterfront.
In addition to its program in Burlington, Vermont, the Chill Foundation also operates programming in 12 other cities across North America.
