YOUTH FROM FIVE AREA AGENCIES WILL BENEFIT FROM SNOWBOARD PROGRAMS AT NO COST
Chill’s positive youth development programs have grown to now include West Michigan for the 2020 winter season! Beginning in January, local youth will participate in their six-week snowboarding program at Cannonsburg Ski Area. All associated costs are covered for the participants including transportation, gear, lift tickets, and lessons.
Chill is a positive youth development program where boardsports become a vehicle for empowerment. Revolving around a core value-driven curriculum, Chill programs consist of experiential learning activities, reflection, and discussion, paired with boardsport lessons. Chill’s six core values provide youth with a foundation and framework for learning and growth, supported and enhanced through on-board progression and adult mentorship.
“The launch of the Chill West Michigan program is the culmination of years of planning and hard work. We’re incredibly stoked to finally get on snow in partnership with multiple amazing organizations that serve youth facing challenges,” said Alex Bornstein, Executive Director at Chill. “The energy and passion in West Michigan for Chill’s work is unparalleled and we can’t wait to see how this program evolves.”
Chill reaches over 2,000 youth annually, with programs in 16 cities throughout North America.
The mission of the Chill Foundation is to inspire youth to overcome challenges through boardsports.
